Dick's Market Garden is hiring for the 2022 season. Dick's Market Gardens loves to hire those with customer service, or public interaction experience. Recently retired as a teacher or public service employee? Are you tired of restaurant work? Sick of being a CSA and not knowing your schedule? Burnt out of nursing or the pharmaceutical field and need a change? We have a number of positions that we have a need to fill including market managers, farmer's markets, farm stand, and field positions. 2 Farmer's Market Managers (full-time): Duties for these candidates will include the ability to travel to various communities in farm vehicles, assist with set-up and break-down of the markets, manage staff and inventory, and assist in sales. These positions require candidates who can stand for long periods of time, have the ability to lift and carry 50 pounds with limited regularity, possess a valid state issued driver’s license. Prior experience in retail or hospitality is preferred. Candidates should send a resume, cover letter, prior compensation history (last five years) and list of three references with applying for the position.
Field Workers: Field workers are needed during the growing season from mid-June into November. Candidates must be able to follow direction, work long periods bending, stretching and carrying. You must be able to carry at least 50 pounds. Hours are dependent upon the weather that day.
Berry Pickers: Berry pickers begin at 7:00 a.m. in the field and work till noon. Pickers are part of a crew that will pick seasonal berries in the fields.
Farmer's Markets and Farms Stand: We are looking for friendly, reliable staff for farmer's markets and the farm stand. Candidates must be available during the day and interact with the public in a polite and professional manner. You must have the ability to lift and carry 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time. Transportation from the farm, to and from the market is provided.
Candidates will be joining a second-generation family farm farming over 260 acres, producing over 70 varieties of fruits and vegetables for sale for the season.
